Bright, Velvety, Berries
Carefully crafted in a bright, clean style, this velvety Merlot offers appealing aromas and bright, succulent flavors of cherry, dark berry and plum backed by subtle mocha and herbal nuances and a delicate minerality.
Varietals: 94% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Western Cape
Vine Age: 12 to 20 years old
Soil: Decomposed granite, weathered shale, clay and sandy loam, with good moisture retention capacity
Farming: Sustainable
Fermentation: Stainless steel
Aging: Stainless steel and French oak; small portion (2%) from previous vintage and was aged in 225 liter French oak barrels for 16 month

A commitment to social responsibility has always been a key part of the Indaba philosophy, with a portion of the proceeds from the wine’s global sales funding the Indaba Foundation, under which Indaba is taking its long-standing commitment to education a step further by shifting its focus to the crucial area of early childhood development. The foundation provides Montessori teacher training to support children living in vulnerable conditions in the South African Winelands, as well as providing learning materials and educational infrastructure to schools established for wineland worker’s children.
