The Wines
Our Aloe Tree Wines collection includes two standout varietals: the Aloe Tree Chenin Blanc and the Aloe Tree Shiraz.
The Aloe Tree Chenin Blanc is a testament to the potential of the Chenin Blanc grape in South African soils. This wine is made from grapes grown in selected vineyard blocks on the west coast, where the extra warmth helps develop the full body and ripe flavours that Chenin Blanc is known for. The result is a wine that is both deliciously quaffable and affordable.
The Aloe Tree Shiraz, on the other hand, is a robust and flavourful red wine that showcases the potential of the Shiraz grape in the Cape’s unique terroir. Like the Chenin Blanc, the grapes for the Shiraz are grown in selected vineyard blocks on the west coast, resulting in a wine that is both concise and classy.
The Winemaking Process
The winemaking process for Aloe Tree Wines is one that respects the fruit and the region’s unique terroir. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit is gently pressed, and only the free run juice is used. The juice then undergoes a cold fermentation using selected yeasts. The white wine is left to rest on its lees for three months, while the red matures in old French oak, adding complexity and depth to the wines.
